These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you ("you", "User") and Ermal Hamzaj, the individual developer of UCInsights ("Developer", "we", "us", "our"), regarding your use of the UCInsights mobile application ("App").

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on any Apple device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, as permitted by the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

This licence does not grant you any rights to use the Developer's trademarks, logos, or brand features.
The symptom patterns, trend scores, AI-generated summaries, research article summaries, and community discussion content displayed in the App are based on self-reported data, publicly available published literature, and public community posts. They are provided for educational and informational purposes only.
You must not:
By using the App you acknowledge and accept that the Developer is not liable for any health outcome arising from information presented within the App.
The App uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate plain-language summaries of peer-reviewed research, provide chat responses, and translate search queries. You acknowledge that:
You agree not to submit any queries that are abusive, illegal, or that violate Anthropic's Usage Policy.
All health logs, notes, and personal data you enter into the App ("Your Content") are stored exclusively on your device. The Developer does not have access to, store, or process Your Content on any server.
You are solely responsible for the completeness of the information you log. You retain full ownership of Your Content at all times.
You agree not to enter into the App any information that belongs to or identifies another person without their explicit consent.
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You must not:
The Developer reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms.
The App integrates with the following third-party services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies, over which the Developer has no control.
The App may display links or content from third-party websites. The Developer is not responsible for the content, data quality, or privacy practices of any third-party site.
The following terms apply because the App is distributed through the Apple App Store:
The licence granted in Section 4 is limited to a non-transferable licence to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
The Developer is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support services for the App. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App.
In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be the Developer's sole responsibility.
The Developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims you or any third party may have relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
In the event that a third party claims that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, the Developer, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
The App, including its design, code, text, graphics, logos, icons, and all other content (excluding third-party content and Your Content), is the exclusive property of Ermal Hamzaj and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
"UCInsights" and the UCInsights logo are trademarks of Ermal Hamzaj. You may not use these marks without prior written permission.
Research article content retrieved from PubMed is subject to the copyright of the respective publishers. Community content from Reddit is subject to Reddit's Terms of Use. News content from Google News is subject to the copyright of the original publishers.
THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
The Developer does not warrant that:
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. In such jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER, ERMAL HAMZAJ, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF HEALTH, PERSONAL INJURY, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF THE DEVELOPER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
THE DEVELOPER'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR €10 (TEN EUROS), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by the Developer's negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it carefully to understand our practices.
The Developer may, from time to time, release updates to the App via the Apple App Store. Updates may add, change, or remove features. You agree that the Developer is not obligated to provide any updates, and that the Developer may discontinue the App at any time without notice.
The Developer does not guarantee that the App will always be available or that access will be uninterrupted. Third-party API services (Anthropic, PubMed, Reddit, Google News) may be unavailable at any time due to factors outside the Developer's control.
These Terms are effective until terminated. Your rights under these Terms will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any of their provisions. Upon termination you must cease all use of the App and delete all copies from your devices.
The Developer reserves the right to discontinue offering the App at any time. Sections 5 (Medical Disclaimer), 11 (Intellectual Property), 12 (Disclaimers), 13 (Limitation of Liability), 17 (Governing Law), and 18 (Dispute Resolution) shall survive any termination.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey and, where applicable, European Union law, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
If you are a consumer resident in the EU or EEA, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are a resident.
If you have a dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App, please first contact us at info@ucinsights.org so that we can try to resolve it informally.
If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days of contacting us, either party may pursue resolution through the competent courts of the Developer's jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
The Developer may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are made, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be communicated through a notice within the App.
Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App and delete it from your device.
