🚨 Medical Emergency?
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, stop using this app immediately
and call your local emergency services (112 / 911) or go to your nearest
emergency room. Do not rely on this app in an emergency.
📋 1. Summary
UCInsights is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat,
cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. All content in the app is for
general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing in UCInsights
constitutes professional medical advice.
UCInsights is a personal health companion developed to help individuals living with
ulcerative colitis (UC) log their daily experiences, explore community-sourced health
trends, and discover peer-reviewed research in plain language. It is a
self-management support tool — not a clinical tool.
By using UCInsights you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to
this Medical Disclaimer in full.
⚕️ 2. Not a Substitute for Professional Medical Advice
The information, content, features, and tools provided by UCInsights — including
but not limited to symptom logs, trend scores, AI-generated summaries, research
article translations, community discussion feeds, food and medication information,
and pattern analyses — are provided for informational purposes only.
This content does not:
- Constitute professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
- Replace or substitute the advice, judgment, or opinion of a licensed physician,
gastroenterologist, or other qualified healthcare professional
- Create a doctor–patient relationship between you and the Developer
- Guarantee the data quality, completeness, or timeliness of any medical information
Always consult your gastroenterologist or a qualified healthcare
professional before making any decisions about your health, diet,
medications, or treatment — including decisions based on information you find
in UCInsights.
Never disregard, delay, or discontinue professional medical advice or treatment
because of something you have read, seen, or received through UCInsights.
📈 3. Symptom Tracking and Pattern Analysis
UCInsights allows you to log daily symptoms, bowel habits, foods, medications,
sleep quality, stress levels, and general wellbeing. The app calculates local
pattern scores — such as the 48-Hour Symptom Pattern and the
UC Activity Index — based solely on the data you enter.
These scores are not clinical assessments. They are simplified
self-reported indicators intended to help you notice personal trends over time.
They are not equivalent to, and must not be used in place of, a clinical evaluation
performed by a healthcare professional using validated diagnostic instruments.
Specifically, you acknowledge that:
- The 48-Hour Symptom Pattern score is a personal trend indicator
based on your self-reported logs — it is not a medical risk prediction
- The UC Activity Index is a simplified educational reference
derived from the Mayo Score framework — it does not replace a formal endoscopic
or clinical Mayo Score assessment performed by a physician
- Correlation patterns shown (e.g., stress, sleep, or food correlations) reflect
your personal log data only and are not evidence-based clinical findings
- No score or pattern in the app should be used to make treatment decisions,
including starting, stopping, or adjusting any medication
🤖 4. AI-Generated Content
UCInsights uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate plain-language summaries of
peer-reviewed research and to respond to chat queries. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated summaries may contain errors, omissions, or outdated
information even when based on published peer-reviewed studies
- AI chat responses are generated automatically and have not been reviewed
or verified by a medical professional
- AI content does not reflect the full complexity of your individual health
situation, medical history, or current medications
- The Developer does not warrant the data quality of any AI-generated
content
Do not use AI chat responses or AI-generated summaries as a basis for any
medical decision. Always verify information with a qualified healthcare professional.
🔬 5. Research and Published Content
UCInsights retrieves peer-reviewed articles from the U.S. National Library of
Medicine's PubMed database and presents simplified summaries of their findings.
You acknowledge that:
- Research findings presented in the app are summaries and
simplifications — they do not represent the full conclusions,
methodology, or limitations of the original studies
- Medical research evolves rapidly; information that was current at the time
of publication may have been superseded by newer findings
- A study finding that applies to a population may not apply to you
individually
- The appearance of a study in the app does not constitute an endorsement of
its findings by UCInsights or the Developer
- Statistical figures (percentages, response rates, improvement rates) shown
in the app refer to study populations — they are not predictions for
your personal outcome
💬 6. Community and User-Generated Content
UCInsights surfaces publicly available discussions from Reddit and other community
sources. This content is created by members of the public and is presented for
informational and peer-support purposes only.
- Community posts reflect personal experiences and opinions,
not medical facts
- Treatments, diets, or remedies mentioned by community members may not be
safe or appropriate for you
- The Developer does not verify, endorse, or take responsibility for any
community-generated content
- Do not change or start any treatment based on community posts without first
consulting your doctor
💊 7. Food and Medication Information
The App provides general information about foods and medications commonly
discussed in the UC community. This information:
- Is based on aggregated community reporting and publicly available
health information — not on your personal medical file
- Describes general patterns reported by the community and does not
constitute a personalised dietary or medication recommendation
- Does not account for your individual allergies, intolerances, drug
interactions, comorbidities, or treatment plan
- Must never be used to start, stop, or adjust any prescription medication
without consulting your prescribing physician
Always discuss dietary changes and medication decisions with your
gastroenterologist or a registered dietitian.
🔔 8. Symptom Reminders and Notifications
UCInsights may send you daily reminders to log your symptoms and alerts about
UC health news. These notifications are reminders only — they
do not constitute medical advice. The Developer is not responsible for any
harm arising from acting on, or failing to act on, any notification sent by
the App.
🩺 9. No Doctor–Patient Relationship
Your use of UCInsights does not create a doctor–patient relationship,
therapist–patient relationship, or any other professional healthcare relationship
between you and Ermal Hamzaj (the Developer), Anthropic, or any other party
associated with the App.
The Developer is a software developer — not a licensed medical professional,
nutritionist, pharmacist, or healthcare provider of any kind.
📜 10. Regulatory Status
UCInsights has not been evaluated, approved, cleared, or authorised
by any medical regulatory authority, including but not limited to:
- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- The European Medicines Agency (EMA)
- The Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TITCK)
- The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
UCInsights is not classified as a medical device under EU MDR 2017/745,
U.S. FDA regulations, or equivalent legislation in any jurisdiction. It is a
general wellness and informational application.
UCInsights is distributed through the Apple App Store as a general wellness
application in compliance with Apple App Store Review Guideline 1.4.1, which
prohibits apps from claiming diagnostic or treatment authority.
🛡️ 11. Limitation of Liability for Health Outcomes
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ermal Hamzaj (the Developer)
expressly disclaims all liability for any health outcome, injury, loss, or damage
of any kind arising directly or indirectly from:
- Your reliance on any information, score, summary, or recommendation
provided by the App
- Decisions you make about your health, diet, medications, or treatment
based on content in the App
- Any error, data gap, or omission in AI-generated, research-sourced,
or community-sourced content

- Interruption or unavailability of the App or its connected services

by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under
applicable law.
